Almost a month had passed since our engagement ceremony. Both Ellana and I had been busy with unnecessary wedding preparations and our work commitments. She was focused on managing product quality, while I was learning how to deliver my speech for the elections, which were scheduled for a week after our wedding. Amidst all this chaos, I didn’t stop meeting Genevive. I tried my best to cheer her up, but she always seemed to be in an uneasy mood. Even when I leaned in to kiss her, she hesitated, so I backed away. Perhaps she felt I was bound to someone else now. That didn't make sense to me; I had explained our relationship to her. Still, she seemed to have a better grasp of emotions and mind reading than I did.
